- Young people may be looked after by a foster family if they aren't able to live with their birth parents.
- If you are looked after, your birth parents may share the responsibility for your care with your foster family and Social Services, who will need to make sure that you are living in a safe and secure environment.
- You should have a say in your Care Plan, which covers your education, healthcare and contact time with your family.
- If you are near the age of 16, you may be thinking about your future and your options when you leave care. Around this time, you will meet with a 16+ Adviser to design a Pathway Plan, which will work out where you'll live and what you'll do about further education, training and employment.
