Ever thought of going to
in Cambridge?
At The Junction this August, Step Up / Act Out is an opportunity for young people with an interest in theatre and dance to develop their skills or try something new during a month packed with creative workshops. A fantastic line-up of top theatre and dance professionals will be delivering a wide range of workshops for young people aged 12 - 21 years at very affordable prices. You can use your g2g card for all workshops during the month.
Kicking off the month is Roots, Rhythm and Style (Mon 04 – Thu 07 Aug), a week of dance classes in a variety of styles ranging from Breaking to African Gum Boot Dancing. There will be classes for beginners and for more experienced movers, all open to 12 - 19 year olds. There is also a week of Contemporary Dance Masterclasses (Mon 18 – Fri 22 Aug) led by top dancers from some of the very best British Contemporary Dance Companies: Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, Jasmin Vardimon Dance Company, CandoCo Dance Company, Motionhouse Dance Theatre and Place Prize ’06 Finalist Alex Broadie for intermediate/advanced dancers, aged 14 - 19 years. On the theatre front there will be two Play In A Week workshops, one for 12 - 15 year olds based on Shelley’s gothic horror story of Frankenstein (Mon 25 – Fri 29 Aug) and the other for 16 - 19 year olds exploring Wedekind’s classic coming of age text Spring Awakening (Mon 11 – Fri 15 Aug). There will also be an Edward Scissorhands themed physical theatre weekend (Sat 09 & Sun 10 Aug).

The g2g Card is a one year pilot to get more young people into activities. Each month your g2g Card will be topped up by Cambridgeshire County Council with £40 for you to spend on activities and interests. To ensure that the money is spent on activities we are using a Prepaid Maestro® Card with chip and PIN. It works like a bank card but if it is taken to a place that is not an activity provider, such as a supermarket or sports shop, your payment will be declined.
These pages will be where young people come to for all information on the scheme, whether that is to check your balance or the terms and conditions. Use our links on the right hand side of the page to find out more.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE DISTRIBUTING CARDS IN SCHOOLS AT PRESENT. WHEN YOU RECEIVE YOUR CARD THERE MAY BE UPTO 24 HOURS DELAY BETWEEN ACTIVATING THE CARD AND THE FIRST PAYMENT. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BALANCE BEFORE GOING TO AN ACTIVITY.
This card is issued by R. Raphael & Sons pursuant to a license by MasterCard International Incorporated. Maestro is a registered mark of MasterCard International Incorporated and affiliates.
